
Contributed by Karlyn Benson / Hudson Valley residents have been eagerly awaiting March and it’s promise of milder weather. With longer days come exciting new exhibitions throughout the region. On March 7, SPIRIT IN THE FLESH: Courtney Puckett, Ben Pederson, and Saul Chernick opens at Utopia in Kingston, The Dark Abyss of Time opens at Holland Tunnel Revisited in Newburgh, and solo shows by Daniel Giordano, Davana Robedee, and Kathy Ruttenberg open at CAS in Livingston Manor. On March 14, D. Jack Solomon: Potpourri – Seven Decades of Painting opens at TSL in Hudson. Plastique opens on March 17 at Opalka Gallery with work by Ellen Driscoll, Twyla Exner, Natalya Khorover, Niki Lederer, Steve McPherson, Portia Munson, and others working with plastic. On March 21, 68 Prince Street’s new exhibitions feature paintings by Paula Deluccia Poons, Elizabeth Gilfilen, Kathy Goodell, Nancy Lasar, Claire Seidl, Francine Tint, and Gina Werfel. If you haven’t been able to visit galleries recently because of the snow, there’s still time to see Yura Adams’ solo show at WAAM, Between The Lines at G-Town Arts in Georgetown, CT, Sharon Butler and Jason Travers at 68 Prince Street, CIVIL TWILIGHT at Roundabouts Now, and the wonderful ceramics show Company: Contemporary Tableware and Lighting at Headstone.
