IMAGES: Paul Behnke

Starting today, Two Coats will be running a regular “Images” feature to introduce readers to painters who deserve more attention. This week’s guest artist is  Paul Behnke, who lives and works in New York City. Behnke has a solo exhibition scheduled at The Rosenfeld Gallery, Philadelphia, in 2012, and his work will be included in upcoming group shows at Cabinet and Mass MOCA.

Paul Behnke, “Snubbie,” 2010, acrylic on canvas, 42 x 42″
Paul Behnke, “Secondary Gap,”2010, acrylic on canvas, 36 x 36”
Paul Behnke, “Henry Parakeet,” 2010, acrylic on canvas, 36 x 36″
NOTE: I will select artists for the weekly “Images” column not by viewing websites or jpegs, but as a result of discovering the paintings in the bricks-and-mortar world.

We did want to let Paul, and twocoatsofpaint, know about Vincent Romaniello. Vincent Romaniello has been cyber harassing Philadelphia artists for over 2 years and often attacks artists he's worked with in the past. Vince writes a racist and misogynistic blog, artblahg. Most of what Vincent writes is opinion, but some is cyber harassment and he has threatened physical stalking. He has also written libelous statements. Harassment is a crime, including cyber harassment.

Here is an example of something Vincent Romaniello wrote within the last 2 weeks. It was directed at Beth Heinly, who Vince refers to as Bet. Vincent Romaniello has been cyberstalking Ms. Heinly for over a year.

not everything is about you dickless Bet.
Either you are a fem or you are fem. That is evident from you speech patturdends. Whether you wear dresses in public or not doesth not matturd. You seem to like to take it bent over soooooooooooo Meet the hard helmut of thereelartblurg.cum!!!!!!!!!!!

Vincent recently made that threat of sexual assault on a local blog.

If you have been harassed or threatened by Vincent Romaniello writing under the pseudonym Harry and Harrietta (and/or other pseudonyms you suspect to be Vincent Romaniello) please contact the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers For The Arts. They have a great deal of information on him and can help you.
