Bloggers Paddy Johnson, Anjali Srinivasan, and Yuka Otani get Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Writing Grants

The Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program has announced the grantees for the final round of its three-year pilot phase. Designed to encourage and reward writing about contemporary art that is rigorous, passionate, eloquent and precise, as well as to create a broader audience for arts writing, the program aims to strengthen the field as a whole and to ensure that critical writing remains a valued mode of engaging the visual arts. This is the first year that art bloggers have been eligible to apply. Representing a range of genres from scholarly studies to self-published blogs, the 27 selected projects, listed below, are united by their dual commitment to the craft of writing and the advancement of critical discourse on contemporary visual art. The grants range from 7,000 USD to 50,000 USD in four categoriesarticles, books, short-form writing, and blogs/new and alternative mediaand support projects addressing both general and specialized art audiences.
