Jered Sprecher‘sfirst museum exhibition, “Outside In” at the Knoxville Museum of Art,features an unusualinstallation strategy thatevokes intimate domesticspacesand enablesviewers to experience his recent work in two ways: asboth a partitioned environmentandas individualobjects. Thepaintings are based on a range of found imagery–birds, flowers, and forests–butafter Sprecher runs themthrough a rigorous digitization process, little trace of the natural remains intact.

Bonus: Watch a 10-minute video of Sprecher talking about the ideas behind the unorthodox installation.
“Jered Sprecher: Outside In,”Knoxville Museum of Art, Knoxville, TN. Through April
16, 2017.
