EMAIL: A letter from Nostracasa, a new art space in Montreal

Dear Two Coats of Paint,

I am an artist and curator currently based in Montreal, Canada. I just started up an art space along with a couple of friends and we are highly dependant on blogs, online art magazines and the social media for exposure on what we do; so I am contacting you today to tell you that we are having our first ever exhibition called “Creature Mythologies” which is curated by Montreal-based curator Summer Geraghty. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to cover this exhibition in your blog? Most of the artists participating are Montreal artists, some international. Below is some information on the show along with images of some of the pieces that will be a part of it.

Looking forward to hearing back from you soon,

Kind Regards, Maha Al Sahhaf

Dear Maha,

Thanks for the note. I’d be happy to run a post about the exhibition. Best of luck with the project.

Kind Regards, too,
Sharon

“Creature Mythologies”
From fairy-tale transient beings to narrations of humanity and the use of animals in our society, “Creature Mythologies” explores a surreality of the animate and inanimate, of the sacred, the supernatural and the organic. Marrying the imagination and reality, Nostracasa’s premiere exhibit embraces painting, drawing mediums, prints, photography and sculpture. Come and experience a mystical night with us and beings unseen.

Artists include: Dustyn Lucas, Emily Jan, Emma-Kate Guimond, Farah Allegue, Gillian King, Jalal Abuthina, Kim Billling, Kirsten McCrea, Morgan Sea, Rachel Tremblay, and William Patrick.

Creature Mythologies,” curated by Summer Geraghty. Nostracasa Interior Concept, Montreal, Canada. August 30th – September 28th, 2012. Vernissage: 5 – 9pm on Thursday, August 30th 2012
