Olympia Lambert, working with Denise Bibro Fine Art, has organized Blogpix at the Platform Project Space in Chelsea. Olympia has invited the Fallon and Rosof Artblog duo, Roberta Fallon and Libby Rosof; Hrag Vartanian, and moi to curate an exhibition that relates to the theme of the Blogosphere, and by extension Cyberspace, and by further extension to the whole concept of ones and zeros.
I’ll have a post on the curators and artists as we get closer to the date, but here’s the 411: Roberta and Libby have selected Christopher Davison; Hrag has selected Ben La Rocco; and I have selected four of my favorite painters: Steven Alexander, Sharon Butler, Reese Inman and Julie Karabenick. The exhibition runs from March 2-28, with an opening on Thursday, March 5.
The gallery will host a Blogger Panel Discussion on Saturday, March 7, at 5:00 pm (so you’ll have a chance to visit the Armory events earlier in the day, then arrive in time to view the show) before settling in for more talk in real time with real folks about what we write about in that other dimension. The four curators will be on the panel, along with Bill Gusky, blogmeister of Artblog Comments and Brent Burket of Heart as Arena. I hope you’ll all show up with comments and questions. We’re still working out the panel parameters. Olympia has set up a Twitter page, and I’ll keep you posted here.
