Gemini (5/21-6/20)
The month begins with a profoundly exciting development in your approach to painting, your love life, your childs life, or your neighbors life. While it could be emotionally charged, you, your child or your neighbor will feel fulfilled. Throughout the month, expect a boost to your looks, whether its that acne clearing up, the loss of a few pounds or shinier hair from more expensive shampoo. You look great, so why not flaunt it at the art fairs or the new Whitney Museum! Mars moves into your 12th House of Privacy at the end of the month, however, when it will be time to turn inward and develop some inner resources. Stop looking to others to validate you in meaningless texts or on social media. Just get in the studio, turn off your phone and paint!

Cancer (6/21-7/22)
This month you have a lot to say. Youre the last to leave the party and youre more inclined than usual to attend openings in faraway neighborhoods. Youll have an easy time letting people know where youre at – how exciting your newest body of work is, how hard it is to have so many ideas – and youre pretty sure people are eager to listen. After all, you are a charmer! A full moon on the 14th will help you focus on finishing a painting that has eluded you for years. And thanks to beautiful Venus this month you are finally feeling frisky. Your libido is no longer in the off position – unleash the tiger!

Leo (7/23-8/22)
Changes are afoot in terms of studio real estate. You might finalize a move to a smaller, less convenient space, receive eviction papers, or be forced to take a studio mate. You are acutely aware of your friendships and their limitations this month, so try to spend more time with your partner or your pet. If things are rocky, how about therapy? Your social life is simply going to be fraught until the end of the summer. It is what it is! Use this time to become passionate about gardening, take up a humanitarian cause, volunteer at an animal shelter. You have so much to give! Your career will be in great shape after the 17th as you will be offered a solo show in your hometown. Kudos!

Virgo (8/23-9/22)
A studio visit or a meeting with a student may turn emotionally draining near the middle of the month. Dont be surprised if you have to talk someone through a complicated psychological situation: you can do it! Just take a nap afterwards. They will be eternally grateful, although they will never say so. Dont be afraid to say no this month. If you experienced stomach cramps and/or gas when you were approached for a questionable opportunity, there is your answer! Be bold and gutsy in the studio change is good! Time to get rid of figures, if thats what youre known for, paint still lifes if you are a zombie formalist, limit your palette, if youre all about color. Make it work!

Libra (9/23-10/22)
Your higher mind is active this month. A new moon will add further stimulation after the 21st. You need to do something with all this excess energy, but be careful not to overwork your paintings. You know how you can get. Keep it fresh in the studio. If you have courage and stop using those small brushes you will make progress. There is nothing standing in your way except yourself! The end of May will find you ready for an unexpected group show that might lead to more unexpected group shows. Youve got the green light from the cosmos! Go go go!

Scorpio (10/23-11/21)
This month is about caring and sharing: caring about your appearance and sharing your paintings on Facebook. Time to wash your hair if you have hair, revamp your website, apply for grants and residencies, schedule studio visits with people who count. If you have any international travel plans, expect to be captivated by an exotic locale. Dont be rash, though, you cant afford to live there. Besides, after the 18th, Mercury will be in retrograde, so its no time to make financial decisions. That said, a glorious New Moon brings a new attitude. Its a great time to experiment with collage. Make the cut!

Sagittarius (11/22-12/21)
Its time to stop burying traumatic experiences and ignoring unconscious or unresolved emotions. You need to come to terms with your messed up past. Face the facts and learn to accept yourself. On a lighter note, after the 7th you will sell a medium-to-large painting and the check will clear. If you need a new refurbished computer or a new used car, you will able able to afford it! Your spouses income may also be affected by the celestial goodness that is in store for you this month. If you can stop turning everything into an argument maybe you two will even have some fun. Its time to celebrate!

Capricorn (12/22-1/19)
Your jealousy over a friends success is harder to hide than usual this month. Do your best to recognize that the problem is with you, not them. If you cannot control your feelings you would do well to avoid them for a few weeks, until you regain your composure and perspective. Your friendship will be back on track as soon as you regain momentum in your own career, which should happen between May 11 and June 24, when you receive some exciting news. Wow! Its time to prime a bunch of large canvases and let it all hang out. If you are patient and refrain from making unfortunate social errors, the world is your oyster and the paintbrush is your unicorn.

Aquarius (1/20-2/18)
You are in the spotlight at the beginning of the month for a career achievement. Whether its a glowing review, a grant, or inclusion in a museum show that your friends would like to be in but arent, you impress yourself and others. What makes this month even more unique is that no one is envious of you, in fact everyone is supportive, except your ex, which totally makes sense. After the 11th, your sex drive is in full effect, so cut loose! Your boundaries are fluid and you are attractive to both men and women. However, after May 18, your ex is back in the picture and its not cute. Have your wits about you, even in your moment of glory.

Pisces (2/19-3/20)
An oppressive legal or real estate situation is resolved in the early part of the month. Time to breathe easy and focus on works on paper its time for fun! Dont worry about framing – your financial sector will see substantial gains before the end of the summer. Between May 18 and June 11 you will hear from old friends with whom youve lost touch. While its wonderful to re-connect, dont let friendship distract you from the tasks at hand: its time to strut your stuff at the art fairs, in the galleries, at openings. Put on your most expensive shirt and put that soaring confidence to work. Its time to make new connections!

Aries (3/21-4/19)
With the lunation of Scorpio, its all or nothing this month. You feel a sense of urgency about everything, as if the world is going to end. If you are generally happy, you will feel an intensification of this feeling; if you are unsatisfied in your work, your relationship or your life, you are dejected and cannot leave bed until the 10th. The good news is when you finally get up and stop playing games on your phone, you are able to get back to work in the studio. Cut up the canvas and let those stretcher bars show! Who cares if a bunch of artists already did it last year? On the financial side, expenses will be high this month, but so is your motivation to keep the money rolling in. Go for it!

Taurus (4/20-5/20)
Get ready for a roller coaster ride! At the beginning of the month you hate art. You have visceral, negative reactions to every show and you dont see the point of making art at all. After May 15, this critical voice subsides enough for you to get in the studio, but you still cant seem to make anything you like. Dont worry! This is the sign that a great transition is coming, if only you can keep the faith! After May 18, Mercury goes into retrograde and while you still may not believe that painting is worthwhile, you keep at it, because you arent trained for any other career path. You know that. At the end of May, you are back in the game, ready to win art! Hang tough!
