Opalka Gallery at the Albany Public Library: Pete Mauney, The Entirety of the Universe, in a Nutshell,
On A Back Road, Looking West (Fireflies), Blue Stores, NY. 6/20/25, archival pigment inkjet print

Contributed by Karlyn Benson / This month I am looking forward to the opening of “Putting it Together: Transforming Collage” at 68 Prince Street Gallery. This group exhibition features the work of over forty artists and is the first in a series of ten collage exhibitions taking place this summer in the Hudson Valley. June exhibition highlights include “Good for Something” at Roundabouts Now, the “Upstate Photography Biennial” at CPW, “Animal Bodies,” with Elana Herzog, Jean Shin, and Brigitta Váradi at the Athens Cultural Center, Portia Munson & Jared Handelsman at Tanja Grunert, “Seven Women Chase Icebergs” at The Re Institute, Melora Kuhn at Private Public, and “Everything is Everything” at N/A Project Space. Elijah Wheat Showroom’s new Beacon gallery opens June 13 with paintings by E.E. Kono. Upstate Art Weekend takes place in June this year and will include one hundred sixty participating artists and organizations throughout the region. Finally, don’t miss “glögg glögg,” a pop up show in Woodstock featuring affordable work by more than two dozen artists.
